The River II isn't hugely different from The River I but it does improve the design in small and incremental, yet notable ways. As such I give it a high "3" out of "5" for Substance: slightly above average. The river isn't tremendously exciting, but it does a good job of offering some variety to a Carcassonne game and is well-designed. I also like the inclusion of elements from each major expansion to date, because it feels like it ties the whole game together. This new river now doubles those options (at least until you draw the castle) because you can play on either branch. The original river was slightly methodical to play, because you always knew where each tile went, and thus the only options were a pair of tile orientations and potential follower placement. People complained that the original offered too large of fields where that river created 5 distinct fields at game start, this one creates 7. What does impresses me with The River II is that in just about every way it improves upon the original. There isn't really much additional strategy, just a new starting position. The previous ones were The River I, King & Scout, and The Count of Caracssonne.Īs I wrote in my review of the original River, the river offers pure variety to the game, and thus replayability. It's also the fourth mini-supplement for Carcassonne-little 12 tile expansions. The River II is a supplement for Carcassonne, and a revision of the original "River", which has been distributed in all recent copies of Carcassonne. ![]() The river itself doesn't have any effect, except to act as another divider of fields. There's an inn-on-a-road (from Inns & Cathedrals), a pig herd (harking back to Traders & Builders), and the lake has a volcano tile (which gets the dragon placed immediately on the board in The Princess & The Dragon). In addition, various of the tiles spotlight the major supplements for Carcassonne. Some of the various river tiles have cities, roads, or both. There are a few basic rules for placement: the river can't U-turn and the two branches can't join.Īfter each placement (except the final, lake tile), the player who placed the tile can choose to play a follower, as normal. ![]() That's the lake which caps the remaining river branch. At that point one of the branches will be closed, but the other continues until the tenth and final tile is drawn. One of these nine tiles shows the river going into a city. A player may choose to place a tile on either branch. The Rest of the River: The next 9 tiles are placed one at a time. Starting Out: The first player lays down the source, then the branch, which turns the one river into two, and if he wants a follower. Rather than beginning with the standard start piece, instead the players lay out the 12 river tiles to begin. The River II expansion for Carcassonne allows for a different starting setup. ![]() The only problem with this release is the value proposition of $6 for 12 tiles, and that's what keeps its ratings down at "3" out of "5", or average. It does a good job of explaining how the river works, and in fact when reading these newer, clearer rules I discovered that I hadn't been playing the original River quite right. The rulebook is a tiny little full-color rulesheet. I don't know if it's the enjoyable Doris Matthaus art, or something new in the printing process, but for whatever reason these tiles look great. ![]() However as soon as I opened the box I was struck by the color and vibrancy of the new tiles. The 12 tiles are all printed, as per the Carcassonne norm, on solid, linen-textured cardboard. This review draws somewhat upon my description of the original River due to their similarities.Ĭaracassonne: The River II comes with a set of 12 tiles and a rulesheet in a small tuckbox. It revises the original River, which is distributed as part of the current Carcassonne basic set. Carcassonne: The River II is a new mini-expansion for Carcassonne. ![]() Rocky also goes through a lot of emotional struggle as he confronts his family trauma, and asks himself many questions, weather rational or not. And remember, this is all my opinion and i love both games.oĮdit: you could also check zero hour. So, based on what I and others said, i believe you have enough to decide. It's a game where i don't mind restarting and doing it all over again. In gb, i get jump scared every damn time i get killed. Not saying i don't like RoN, just that it doesn't bring me back as often as gb does. I prefer gb because it reminds of my first love : the first, real, rainbow six. Now with the update, I'll hop back in and try it again. I felt like there wasn't enough content when I bought it, so i got bored. The same game, but better looking, better guns and different maps. I like the way the player moves, the gun feel and being able to arrest people, making us think before shooting. And you mostly walk.įor RoN, i also love it. It's to evade or move from cover to cover, but you do get to chose when to run or walk. ![]() You don't get to arrest people, but it is not a game based on swat. For me, i love gb not because of weapons customization, but because of the maps, gun feel and the mobility of our player. It's true the ai is kind of primitive, but they do give a challenge and they certainly feel harder than RoN. They are also working on the ai for the next big update, but there's no date. ![]() The disadvantage they have is that they didn't get the hype train going. They do try to work on bugs as much as possible, they listen to the community. Well, apart from all that was already said, I'll say that the developers of ground branch are really active in their discord. Thanks bro! Yes, that would have been my next question, at what pace the updates are coming to the games, but pretty slowly then according to them. Both games also have a pretty slow development cycle though, so expect to wait a while before things change significantly. Ground Branch, for example, will get friendly AI and a campaign mode, eventually. There are civilians on maps, oftentimes more civilians than enemies, and you'll need to arrest people more than shoot them.īoth games are still in active development so things will change with both of them. Thematically, RON is a police SWAT game with an emphasis on not killing people, and there are score penalties if you shoot someone who was not a threat. There are short stories for each map, but they're not directly tied together yet and there's no campaign at the moment. Game modes have more variety and are more thematic than Ground Branch. There are some "game" mechanics to RON, most maps have several game modes and your play through is scored after each mission, your best score and time is tracked for each mission type and map. Ready Or Not also has friendly AI with a pretty decent command system that very much resembles SWAT 4, making Ready Or Not far more playable solo. Enemy AI is far more sophisticated in Ready or Not, they occasionally do wacky things, but that's gotten better in the most recent patch. Map variety isn't as good as Ground Branch, but that's partly because of the theme. There are a handful of good maps and more that are in a semi-finished state with placeholder textures or no textures at all. Movement and weapon handling are good, but a bit more clunky than Ground Branch, there's more sway and shake if that sort of thing bothers you, and a lot of environmental effect as you get shot at. Ready Or Not has alright weapon customization, very little gear customization, and fairly limited variety of equipment. Thematically, Ground Branch is a shoot first military game with frag grenades, machine guns, and other special forces type military equipment. There's basically no "game" to Ground Branch yet, you can play with guns on maps, and there are several game modes for both PVP and PVE, but there's zero progression or story of any kind. There is currently no friendly AI, so if you are playing without friends you'll be facing the enemy alone. Ground Branch has mediocre placeholder enemy AI, they're serviceable and fun enough to fight, but basic. For guns and gear, Ground Branch is among the very best - if not the best - game on the market right now. Some of the maps are insane, and most look fantastic. Ground Branch has excellent weapon and gear customization, excellent weapon handling and movement, and a wonderful variety of weapons, gear, and maps. Both are great, but fairly significantly different at the moment. ![]() There is no investment program yet, but Bitcoiva plans to launch a staking program soon. This determines at how much loss the hopper starts trailing the short. The TSS has a lot of settings, but two of them are crucial. You could use this as an alternative for a traditional stop-loss. The TSS will automate the part where your Hopper initiates the short, and when it buys back the position. Your Hopper will repurchase the position, protecting yourself from a loss so that you can make a profit sooner. The only difference is, the TSS will track how much the position is going down and how much “loss” you’ve saved! When you expect that you’ve reached the bottom, you stop the short. These funds will be reserved to buy back the same amount of the coin for less. When you expect that the price of a position will go down and sell a position based on the settings, “always short instead of sell” or “open short based on strategy”, you initiate the short. To understand the TSS, it’s essential to know that Shorting is different in Cryptohopper than traditional shorting. The Trailing Stop-Short (TSS) is almost the same as the TSB. This determines how much the price must rise until the actual buy order is placed. The TSB has one important parameter, and it’s the Trailing Buy Percentage. Just go to the advanced view, and configure it when placing an order. After that, your Hopper will always use your TSB when it gets a signal or when its strategy signals a buy. ![]() When it goes up, it will initiate the buy order and voila! You can configure the TSB in your baseconfig. The TSB will keep monitoring the rate as a token goes down until it starts to goes up again to reach a set percentage. Use the Trailing Stop-Buy (TSB) to delay your buy and track the price. This is impossible to know, but it is possible to get help from a bot! When you buy, you never know if you’ve bought something for the bottom price. You can also configure if your Hopper should only use the TSL to sell positions (it will ignore the short/take profit), if it can only sell when a position is in a profit, or if it can try again when its sell order didn’t fill. It can do that right at the start at 0.01% “profit”, or only when a position reaches a percentage profit. The Trailing Stop-Loss percentage determines how much the price should drop before the TSL sells the position, and the Arm Trailing Stop-Loss determines when your TSL should start tracking the price. You can configure your Trailing-Stop Loss in your base config, or add it directly to your order in the Advanced View. Manual, semi-automatic, and full auto-traders all use this feature. This is an ideal way to follow an upwards trend and to prevent selling too early. Whenever the price goes down again, your TSL will fire and sell your position. The Trailing Stop-Loss (TSL) automatically adjusts your stop-loss when the price goes up. It’s a feature usable for almost every type of trader.
